Today was the day. Sam had been waiting for this for months now. The atmosphere was electric, absolutely insane. He had dreamed of this moment ever since he'd first started playing football as a youth. It didn't take him long to get ready for this event. A hot shower and a shave, and the suit and tie that, though he didn't want to wear, he looked pretty sharp in, and it was off to pick up Cori. He opened the door to his SUV, and hopped in excitedly. Just before he'd showered, he'd gotten a phone call from the head coach of the Sapphire City Monarchs. He'd been told that the team had every intention of drafting him if he fell far enough on the draft board for them. They were very interested in both his talent and his work ethic. There was one thing though that they wanted to know. Would he be willing to change positions? The team had a great running back, James Reynolds, and it was likely that Sam wouldn't get much playing time other than special teams and backing up Reynolds. There was really no question at all about it though. He would absolutely change positions. Whatever it took to be a part of the professional league, he was all in.
The tension just kept building as he made his way to Cori's apartment. His excitement was boiling over, almost to the point where he'd start singing with the radio, which he never did. He'd likely get drafted by his home team, so he would only have to travel a few times a year for games. So he wouldn't have to worry too much about not being able to spend time with Cori and not having time to do his hero thing. He was just glad that today there wasn't anything going on that would require his attention to use his powers. He did like using his powers though.
Finally, fifteen minutes after getting in his car, he pulled up to Cori's apartment complex. He still marveled at her place. His was nice, but damn she had a great pad. He closed his car door and went up the steps to her floor. Straightening his tie, or trying to, he took a deep breath and rolled his neck, popping it and his shoulders. That felt good. He reached out to the doorbell but stopped when he realized that he'd forgotten something. He rushed back down the stairs and to his car, grabbing the vase of twelve red roses he'd brought for her. Back up to her apartment, and the vase hidden behind his back, he reached out and rang the doorbell.

Trying to sleep last night had been an exercise in futility. Poor Cori. Oh well, that was why God had invented coffee. Probably the worst part was that the situation at hand didn’t really involve her at all. This was Sam’s dream. He could just as well leave her here at home while he went to (hopefully) get drafted. Well, she knew that someone was bound to pick up a hard-working, talented player like him. The question was: who would it be? Maybe that was the part that worried her. If he got offered a spot with some team on the west coast… He’d have to go. Obviously. But damn long distance relationships sucked. Not to mention they hardly ever worked out. There was always that paranoia of the other person meeting someone else. With a good-looking guy like Sam, add a little fame in there and girls would flock to him even more than they already were in college. Scary thought.
The doorbell rang while she was flipping through one of her textbooks. There was a chapter she needed to finish in the next couple of days, but even her third cup of coffee wasn’t helping her focus at the moment. She was too excited and nervous. So as soon as that familiar ring caught her ear, she was up in a hurry and rushing for the door. The view on the other side was enough to bring a smile to her face. “Well hey there, handsome…” She leaned forward to press her lips lightly against his, then noticed that one of his hands was suspiciously placed behind his back. Her eyebrows raised. “Oh baby, did you finally get me that inflatable Volkswagon I’ve been wanting!? And it’s not even my birthday.” Leave it to Cori to crack bad jokes when she’s nervous, but thankfully Sam hadn’t seemed to mind so far in the time they’d been together.
Thanks in part to her lack of ability to sleep and all-around restlessness, she’d been ready to go for over an hour in a simple red dress that was becoming one of her favorites thanks to the fact that it was surprisingly comfortable on top of being cute as hell. Flirty, but not too revealing. This was business after all, Sam’s future, not a frat party or club night they were going to. Not that she had very many of those outfits left, anyway. Clubbing and partying were not a big part of her life anymore. Thankfully. Having Sam in her life was infinitely better than wasting her time with random hookups.

Sam almost felt his palms starting to sweat a bit. Maybe that was just because it was a warm day out, but luckily he kept it under control. Every time he saw Cori it was like that for him. He freaked out a little bit, mostly because he'd never imagined that he'd be able to love someone so completely as he did her. He smiled at her joke. Only Cori could make such a bad joke funny. And only Sam could come up with the right rebuttal. "Inflatable Volkswagon, yeah that's on back order actually," he said with a grin. He leaned down to kiss her, and only after unlocking their lips did he pull the flowers from behind his back. To say he was excited about the day was an understatement. But there was nothing in this world, no dream, no high from his superhero thing, nothing at all, that excited him more than getting to be with Cori. He could tell that she hadn't slept, if only because of the pile of books on her floor behind her. She'd apparently been studying really hard.
He pulled her close in a hug, letting his hand slide down a little farther than her waist, and did something he'd been thinking about for a few days now. His hand cupping her left butt cheek, he let a tiny vibration of his powers free as he kissed her again. Probably not the best time to do that, since they had to go, but Sam did enjoying teasing her like that sometimes. And boy did she ever give that teasing back....
"So, I think we should probably get going. You ready, beautiful?" he asked, quickly diverting the attention to the day's festivities. Damn she looked great in that dress though. He wished that he had time to do things to her before the draft. But, he consoled himself with the thought that there would be plenty of time for that later on tonight. Once she was ready, he took her down to the car, doing the gentlemanly thing the whole way, holding the door, opening her door and helping her in....all that jazz. It wasn't long before they were at the location for the event. The civic center was packed, cameras and reporters and representation from every football team. Making their way through the crowd, Sam led her to the table marked for him. A waiter came up to get a drink order from them before the meal was served. Then it was time. He wanted to tell her about the phone call he'd gotten, but he really wanted it to be a surprise to her. He knew she was worried that he might have to leave the city. He didn't want to do the long distance thing either, but he'd do it if some team drafted him before the Monarchs got their turn. Sam's excitement was palpable. There was no hiding it.

He wouldn’t be Sam if he couldn’t shoot a retort right back that was just as corny and funny as the bad joke she’d told. But at least he’d shown her what he was hiding behind his back after giving her a tender kiss. “They’re beautiful, babe.” She took the flowers from him with a grin. This day was all about Sam, about his future and his career, yet he brought her a present. He always managed to make her feel like an important part of his life, no matter what else was going on. It was one of the things she truly loved about him. Things like that were what had made her decide to plan where she went for law school around where he got drafted to, so she could be near him. She wanted to do everything that she could to make this relationship with him work. It would be difficult, she had no doubt of that, with the fame, money, and the women that would undoubtedly be throwing themselves at him just because he was a professional athlete. That would be the true test.
He pulled her into his arms again before she’d even had a chance to put the flowers down and kissed her a little more deeply. With a little surprise added in there. Well, that was new. She pulled away from him with a mischievous smirk. “Behave, or you won’t get out of this apartment for at least an hour,” she promised. What a tease he was. Using his powers for such nefarious purposes, and especially right now when they wouldn’t have time to sate the desires he’d so casually stirred up inside her. Well, it would all be taken care of later. Cori was certain of that much. He never failed to satisfy her.
They made it out of the apartment soon afterward, and were on their way. Cori wasn’t sure what to expect, so all she could do was follow Sam’s lead and hope that she didn’t make him or herself look like idiots in front of all these cameras. She was used to a little press coverage just from being the daughter of a wealthy socialite, but this was a whole other level. They made it to the table, and she chuckled looking down at the place settings. “Food? Seriously? They expect us to be able to eat right now?” she commented softly to Sam. At least they were offering drinks beforehand. Cori ordered a Manhattan for herself, then took Sam’s hand and squeezed it lightly. “So how does this all work? It looks like there are a lot of people here…” Not that it made her that much more nervous. Sam was an amazing football player so she knew that at least one team would want to scoop him up.

Sam was glad that she liked the flowers. It was the right thing to do, as far as he was concerned, to make sure she knew that she was the most important thing in this world to him. More than football, more than anything, she was his everything. It wouldn't matter what came his way after he got drafted. She would still be that. No woman would come between them. That was his word, and despite his excitement for the day, she was still the most exciting thing to him. Her comments about him not being able to get out of the apartment brought a smirk to his face. "Promises, promises," he teased, then gave a little wink. Unfortunately, there was no time for that right now and they had to get to the gala hall.
So they got to the place, and Sam laughed when she asked how they'd be expected to eat anything. Sam never had a problem with eating. And usually more than his fair share. For someone so physically fit, he could seriously put away some food. "Oh, I don't know. Probably with a fork and knife," he said with a smirk. Being a gentleman, Sam pulled out her chair for her and helped her push under the table when she was seated. Then he went to sit down. She was right about there being a lot of people there. "Well, basically we'll sit here and wait as each team has a few minutes to decide on their pick and then goes up to the podium. I'll get a phone call from the team when they've decided to draft me so that I know to get ready to get up and make my way up to the podium to shake hands with the commissioner and get my draft jersey." It was pretty simple really. But he could see how someone who'd never watched a draft would wonder. And the amount of people there was just nuts, he had to admit that too. "There's representatives for every team here, a lot of agents for the athletes. My agent is here somewhere. He's got other guys too, so he's probably with one of them."
The time came though, and the draft started. From their table, the two could see the broadcast analyst table and the four men sitting there talking about the draft, though they couldn't hear them from the distance. The commissioner came to the podium and announced that a the Monarchs had made a trade to get the current pick, pick number twelve. Sam was on edge now, since he'd gotten that phone call. "This is me," he whispered to Cori. That's when he heard his phone ringer go off. He smiled and kissed Cori quickly before answering the phone. "Hello?" His smile was as big as it had ever been when on the other end he heard the coach's voice saying to get ready. "I won't let you down, sir. I'll play my ass off for you," he answered. The commissioner came to the podium again after Sam hung up and announced that the Sapphire City Monarchs had selected Sam with the twelfth pick. A quick kiss and Sam was up and making his way to the podium, putting on the Monarchs' ball cap. This was his dream coming true. He shook the commissioner's hand, held up the jersey together and took a picture. One of the analysts was there to give a quick interview after the selection, and Sam was on the way back to the table. "Can you believe it?" he asked Cori as he wrapped her up in a hug.

Sam’s comment about the food earned him a playful glare and a slight nudge in the ribs from Cori. He could be such a smart aleck sometimes, but she couldn’t give him too much shit at the moment. Not considering the circumstances, and where they were currently. It was perhaps a fault on Cori’s part that she’d never thought to ask him before now how this was all going to work. Luckily, Sam didn’t seem to mind explaining it to her a bit. But hey, she hadn’t really known anything about football before she started dating him. Only what a touchdown was, and how to read the scoreboard basically. She’d never had a reason to care before. Since it meant so much to Sam, though, she’d made a real effort over the time they’d gotten together and actually learned a lot. Seeing how hard Sam worked and how much he loved football really gave her additional appreciation for the sport. So once he’d explained how this was all going to work, Cori was able to sit in eager anticipation of the moment when her boyfriend’s name would be called.
Pick number twelve. That was when the excitement on Sam’s face increased dramatically. She knew even before he leaned over to kiss her that this must be him. She wondered what that meant in terms of his ranking among the other rookies looking to get drafted. But not for long. She was too busy being excited for him. Watching him go up to that podium and shaking hands with the commissioner was one of the proudest moments of her life, even though it really had nothing to do with her. He’d really made it happen. He was going to be signed with the Monarchs, and it was undoubtedly going to be the start of an amazing career. Wait… the Monarchs? Like, the Sapphire City Monarchs? Had Sam just been drafted to the local team!? Holy shit! Cori hadn’t even dared to hope for something like that when she’d thought about where Sam might go. It seemed too good to be true that he was actually staying here.
Her eyes followed him as he left the stage for the interview, but admittedly she was in a bit of a stupor from the shock. It wasn’t until he was heading back to the table that Cori fully came back to her senses. She stood up, taking a few quick steps to meet him before they embraced. “I’m so proud of you babe,” she said as she clung to him tightly. This had to be a dream. With her arms wrapped around him, she gently pinched her left arm just to make sure. “I guess I didn’t need to worry about you moving off and falling in love with another girl after all, huh?” she asked jokingly as she pulled back to look at him. Her tone was joking, but he would undoubtedly realize that it really had been a worry of hers. Not that she doubted how much he cared, but the world was crazy and sometimes shit happened. She didn’t want to take anything for granted.

For as long as he could remember, football had always consumed the larger portion of Sam's life. Until the night he met Cori, it was all he really thought about. Sure, he had a job outside of school and was pretty good with the girls, but it was all football to him. Cori changed that, but he liked the change. Still, it came full circle and back around to football again, where he'd be at the professional level and he'd be able to provide for Cori on a higher level. She was his everything now, and football was more a means to an end. So when the twelfth pick came around and was revealed to be him, Sam was just as much relieved as he was excited. He was going to be a Monarch. That brought a smile to his face. But the smile on Cori's face made his even bigger.
Hearing that she was proud of him was the icing on the cake. That meant everything to him. Her joke brought a laugh from him and he responded. "That's not something you'd ever have to worry about, baby. You're my world." The head coach of the Monarchs, Alex Martinez, came over to their table and greeted him. "Welcome to the Monarchs, Mr. Franklin." He looked to Cori and extended his hand to shake hers. "This must be Mrs. Franklin." Sam chuckled a bit and then nodded. "Well, that's the plan, coach, if she'll have me." There was nothing in Sam's mind that said that she wouldn't, but there was always a joke to come from him. He gave Cori a wink and the coach, after telling him when to report to camp, said his goodbyes and headed off.
With that, it was time to go. Sam gave a few hand shakes from others waiting to get drafted and a few who'd stayed behind for a bit afterwards, and he led Cori to the car. "This was absolutely insane," he offered, so very happy now from all of this. It was even better for him since he got to share it with the woman he loved. Checking his text messages, he got one from his agent congratulating him, and telling him that he was to report to the training facility next week, where they would talk contract. "Next week," he said to Cori, as he opened her door for her. "Next week I go in for contract talks. Rookie money is usually great, especially this high up in the draft. This is going to be great."

Cori beamed at him as they sat back down. It was still almost like it was too good to be true, but at least now she wouldn’t have to be in this city by herself. She’d been prepared to go to law school wherever he got drafted, but this really would be the best possible scenario. SCU’s law program was one of the best in the country. Even assuming she didn’t get accepted to that one, there were plenty of other good schools within reasonable driving distance. They could stay near family and each other. Cori didn’t think that she’d been this happy since the first time Sam told her he loved her. What an unforgettable night that had been, and this one was promising to be the same way.
The man that Cori recognized as the coach of the team her boyfriend had just been drafted to approached their table. And that was when she nearly died. All it took was an assumption and a half-full martini glass. Mrs. Franklin!? She nearly choked on the sip of her drink she’d been in the middle of swallowing when the man said that. And Sam’s response certainly didn’t slow the pounding of her heart any. Of course she wanted them to be together for… well… forever. Leaving him was not an option for her, and luckily she knew that he felt the same way. But they’d never really talked about… THAT. Cori cleared her throat as she set her glass down and reached out to shake the man’s hand. “Cordelia. It’s a pleasure to meet you,” she said with a smile.
Soon after that, the man was gone and they were heading out. Cori was practically floating her way back to the car hand in hand with Sam. In a week he would know exactly what his contract would be. The money didn’t matter so much to her. As long as he was happy and able to make a living doing something he loved, something he was really good at, that was all that mattered to her. “So how should we celebrate? We can do whatever you want it’s on me.” There was so much to do in the city, but she wasn’t sure what Sam would feel like doing at this point. He could feel like going out and partying all night long, or he might just want to head home. Cori would go along with wherever he felt like taking her.

Sam gave a slight chuckle at Cori's reaction to the Mrs. Franklin thing. Oh he'd thought about it quite a lot, especially recently. He knew that the contract he'd sign would more than compensate to give her the lavish lifestyle that he knew she deserved. More than that, the lifestyle that he wanted to be able to give her. This was why he'd yet to buy a ring, though now it was in his head that he would soon. And it would be the biggest, most beautiful ring she'd ever seen. Only the best for her....only the best for her. It was something he'd been telling himself for a long time. He somehow knew, even on that first night that they'd met, that this was the woman for him, and the only woman for him. She had nothing to worry about when it came time for road trips with the team. He hoped that he'd done enough that she knew that.
He could feel just how proud of him she was. Sam was going to be living his dream. Professional football was a desire that not many people got to satiate, and he was going to get to do just that. It meant a lot of time and dedication, but he was more than willing to put in that time. And he damn sure had the dedication. But as much as this meant to him, he found that he couldn't wait until the day that Cori graduated from law school. He'd be right there in the audience, watching her cross the stage, just like she'd been for him today, and see her take the next step into her dream career. Once they got to the car, and he'd opened the door for her, he gave her a playful swat on the butt and a smirk when he closed her door. Around the other side, when he'd gotten in, he heard her say that anything he wanted to do to celebrate was on her. He gave a playful smirk again.
"Well, I am a bit hungry, but I'm thinking just drive through if that's cool with you." He cranked up the car and started off. "Oh, and the only thing that's gonna be on you....is me," he teased. It wasn't long, though the wait in line was a bit too long, before they had gotten their food and he started towards her place. "Fast food, my ass," Sam had commented while waiting in line. At least the curly fries were hot. He pulled into her apartment complex. "So I'm thinking food, maybe a movie and a few drinks. Just you and me. That's all I need." He smiled as he followed her up the stairs to her apartment.

Cori laughed. “Celebrating an NFL draft with greasy spoon burgers. Only you, baby.” She shook her head slightly. He was such a down-to-earth guy, and that was part of why she’d fallen in love with him in the first place. The kind of life she’d gotten used to living among people of her father’s acquaintance was so different, so stuck up and boring. That was the life she’d rebelled against, which was part of the reason she’d been at that party the night she met Sam. Those wild days of hers had been fun in their own way, but far from healthy in the long term. She’d been damn close to giving up on college altogether and letting herself drift down a different path. Being with Sam had straightened her out and showed her what was really important, even to the point of affecting the way she thought about the major she’d chosen. Now she was actually looking forward to becoming a lawyer, rather than just diong it because that was what her father had wanted.
That gratitude was part of the reason she wasn’t going to back down on this one little issue. That was why her response to his little tease didn’t come until they were actually at the drive thru window. “I love your chivalry thing, babe, but I wouldn’t fight me on this one. You won’t win.” She said as she took off her seat belt and leaned over him to pay for the food. This particular scenario happened more often than Cori liked to admit. It was cute that Sam was the true gentleman and all, but even trying to pay for everything on a day like your birthday was just not going to fly with her. His special days meant that he needed to put a little of that to the side and let her take care of it. She loved him, after all, just as much as he loved her. Of course she was going to want to spoil him occasionally.
So now that the burgers and fries had been retrieved, he wanted to go back to her place and watch a movie. “Sounds good to me,” she replied with a smile. Some of her favorite memories with him were of the two of them just cuddling on the couch acting silly, though to be fair she had a lot of favorite memories when it came to the time they’d spent together. She opened the door for them and kicked off her shoes once they got inside. “So what do you want to drink babe?” she asked, heading to the kitchen. They each liked a variety of different alcohols depending on their mood and what they were eating, so she kept a pretty good selection in her place.

Sam chuckled at her comment and shook his head. He knew he was very plain and simple sometimes, well, most of the time really. He also knew that he'd hit the jackpot with Cori. He'd never known the lifestyle that Cori had been used to, but in just a few weeks he'd be beginning to understand. The money was going to be big. But he wasn't going to let that go to his head. Sam wasn't that type of guy. He already had it in his head that part of the money from his contract was going to charitable funds. It all depended on how much his contract was going to be, and he'd find that out soon enough. For now, it was all about the burgers and fries, and the celebration to come. Ten minutes in the drive thru line made Sam question. "After all these years, all the new tech and such, and burger joints still can't move fast enough." He took the bag and shrugged. "At least the food is hot, I guess," he said. Couldn't really complain about that.
"Okay, you win," he said when she insisted on paying. Of course he wasn't going to go down without a fight, or at least a scuffle. As she leaned over to hand the money to the person in the window, he reached up and tickled her ribcage and stomach. Luckily for her the cloth of her dress would protect her a bit from it, but not completely. For the rest of the drive back to her place, Sam was sure to keep his hand on hers. He watched as she led them into the house, his eyes not leaving her butt. "Damn...gets me every time," he muttered as he followed inside.
"Whatever you want, I'm good with," he answered her question about what he wanted to drink. He set the food out on the table in the living area, and went to her collection of movies. "Holy shit." How many movies did she have? He looked them over, realizing that he hadn't seen the majority of them. Between school, football practice, work, and his occasional forays into heroism, he didn't find very much time for movie watching. "What are we going to watch?" he asked quizzically.

Cori could definitely feel his eyes on her backside. By now, it was a common occurrence that she was very used to, but it still gave her a nice ego boost to know that he still took the time to check her out whenever he got the opportunity. For some couples, the ardor cooled after a while. It was a pretty common problem, and she’d seen couples break up over it after only a few months of dating. They did not seem to have that problem so far, luckily. She seriously doubted they ever would. Seriously though, who could ever get tired of a man like Sam? Looks alone would just about be enough, but he was so much more than that. He was considerate, funny, down-to-earth, honest… and now he was going to be a professional football player on top of all that. She would be beating the women off with a stick. Better prepare herself for that reality now.
Once they were home, she grabbed a couple of beers from the fridge and traveled back to the living room. She’d always found that drink to go the best with burgers. It seemed that he’d spent the time she was gone ogling over her impressive movie collection. Cori chuckled. “Surprised? What do you think I do while you’re at the gym or practice?” He had to spend quite a bit of time at both of those things, which was understandable considering that was what it took to make it to the professional league. She couldn’t spend ALL that time studying.
“Well, what kind of movie are you in the mood for? I’ve got pretty much anything covered.” She asked him a few more questions to help her narrow down a movie that he would most likely enjoy. From there, it was just a matter of selecting it from the menu on her viewing screen and waiting for it to start. In the meantime, she made herself comfortable on the couch and reached for her order of fries. Had to eat those first, before they got cold. That was the universal rule of fries, right?

How could Sam, or anyone for that matter, help himself? Was there truly any way to follow a woman like Cori and not look lustfully at her backside. For Pete's sake it was damn near perfect. Especially for a man like Sam, who had been so much of a casanova for so long before he'd met her. Well, maybe not a casanova. More like a dirty dog. But was there really a difference? But it wasn't just her body that kept him wanting her. Her hair, and it's multiple different looks, her eyes, so pretty. Her intelligence and wit, it kept him on his toes. With her, he'd found his first deep and meaningful relationship.
Sam was extremely surprised at her movie collection. He'd never really thought about what she did while he was at the gym or at practice. He'd just assumed that she'd been doing schoolwork or hanging out with friends. He hoped that she'd found some friends other than him since moving to Sapphire City. "I honestly had no idea," he answered as he pulled a comedy movie from the cabinet. "What's this?" he asked.
"Hell if I know. I haven't seen half of these movies." His eyes passed over more of them until he did find one that he recognized. It was an action adventure, but he felt like laughing, so he pointed out the comedy for her to queue up on her view screen. He went to the couch and sat damn near on her, poking at her with his hip and wrapping an arm around her. He reached for his fries. Because yep, had to eat them first. The burger did look damned enticing though. "So what's this one about?" he asked as he saw the movie load up on the screen. He didn't care really, he just liked spending time with the woman who'd stolen his heart.

Cori chuckled when he said he had no idea how she spent her time. It comforted her that he trusted her enough to not even really think about what she was doing when she wasn’t around. She knew that it wasn’t because she wasn’t on his mind. He just knew that he didn’t need to worry about her. Just like she knew that she wouldn’t have had to worry about it if he’d been drafted to a different team and had to move to another city. Didn’t mean that she wasn’t damned glad that she wasn’t going to have to do a long distance relationship, though. That would have really sucked.
She looked to the movie he’d picked. “Oh! That one’s really funny. You’ll like it.” She selected the movie he chose and scurried over to the couch. Just in time to be practically crushed by her boyfriend’s perfect ass as he plopped down. She scooted over to give him a little room. Not too much, though. She loved to be near him. Especially if that meant watching a movie with him that he hadn’t seen before. It was almost more fun watching his reactions.
The beer got Cori’s attention first, but soon she was going after her fries as well. “It’s about these guys that travel through time and get into all sorts of trouble.” It made her chuckle a little just thinking of some of the shenanigans that ensued. “I have to admit I’m kind of surprised that someone hasn’t discovered a way to travel through time by now. I think it would be kinda cool to go back, like, a few hundred years to see what the world was like, you know? They’d probably think I was a witch or something, but still...”

Sam trusted his lady implicitly. It was odd to him that he had that level of trust with anyone, but Cori had opened up his heart that way. He loved her with every fiber of his being. Whatever came, he would protect her and love her. Even death couldn't stop that. His affection for her transcended eternity. This whole day would not have been half as exciting to him were she not around for it. If he didn't have her, there was no point.
He was glad she liked his movie choice. "Interesting," he said as she explained what the movie was about. Time travel was something that always intrigued him. He wrapped an arm around her as she scooted over slightly. Just having contact with her was imperative to him. His hand rested over her shoulder and his other stuffed a handful of fries in his mouth. As the movie opened to the lead character peeing, pants and boxers around his ankles, all the while singing an odd song to himself, Sam nearly lost the food from his mouth from laughter. If the rest of the movie was half as funny as that, he was going to love it.
"I think time travel would be fun," he said after finally managing to swallow the fries. "Dangerous, but fun. What would it be like to meet our ancestors? You know?"
