Less than a year ago.... City representative Nick Sharpe stands at the gravesite of his wife and hound child. A single tear runs down his cheek. "They call them heroes. Heroes. Can you believe that? It's their fault that you're not here." His teeth clenched tightly, his eyes closed. "I promise I'll make this right. I will avenge you."Two months ago.... Nick stands behind a blue curtain, a large crowd has gathered on the other side. He's decked out in his best suit, a black Armani, with a dark blue tie. Reading over his notecards one more time, he took a deep breath and headed out onto the stage. Behind the podium stood something human shaped under a large cloth. Stepping to the podium, Nick quickly cleared his throat and gave a half smile to the crowd. His message was not one that warranted a full smile. Everyone knew what had happened to him. His family, trapped in a building during the Omega's invasion, the tears that streamed down his face when he watched helplessly as the building crashed down on them, his silence in the aftermath..... There was a burning hatred in that silence, and the world was about to find out what he'd been doing for the following seven and a half months. The crowd fell silent in anticipation as he moved his mouth closer to the microphone. "Good evening," he started. "We're all aware that I've left the public eye as of late, and tonight, I am here to show you why. To show you what I have been doing for all that time." He gave a look back to the cloth covering the human shape, and nodded as a man moved forward. The man pulled the cloth from the figure, revealing a robotic armored suit. "This is the prototype armored artificial intelligence that I've created to hunt down and eradicate the extranormals that infest this city. They are equipped with state of the art weaponry, high caliber rounds and laser sights. Their sensors pick up on the extra genetic material that causes these powers, as they're commonly called. It's a failsafe to keep any civilians from getting hurt in the crossfire. Additionally, they are equipped with a combat computer that allows them to calculate their opponent's next moves, sort of a foresight. I call them Augury Soldiers."The crowd became an uproar of shouting and reporter's questions. Nick patted the air with his open palms, trying to calm everyone. After a few moments, the noise died down enough that he could continue to speak. "Within the month, these soldiers will be fully functional and ready to begin patrolling the streets, relieving us of the powered individuals that steal away our safety."The crowd went nuts again. What was this guy thinking? What was his issue? Most of the super powered individuals worked to keep the city safe. And this guy was trying to end that? There was no way that could fly. Nick didn't leave any room for questions though. Shaking his head, obviously unhappy with the people disagreeing with his point of view. It didn't matter though. His plan was already set into motion. There was no stopping this now. Present day..... Nick stands in an Eagle's Nest headquarters. "We'll, you really fucked that one up, Sharpe," a voice called from behind. Nick recognized the voice. It belonged to Nathaniel Hale, the leader of Eagle's Nest. He responded with a shake of his head and a deep breath. Within the time since the press conference, the Augury Soldiers were set out upon the city. Unfortunately for Sharpe, however, something caused the soldiers to go rogue. They didn't just attack the powered. They did exactly what Sharpe was trying to prevent, destroying property and hurting those who they were supposed to protect. "You told me so?" Nick asked bluntly. A small smile formed over Hale's face. "I didn't tell you anything. Look, I know about your family and I get the whole vendetta thing." Hale moved up closer to Nick, almost face to face. "But what matters now, what I have to do, is clean up this shit storm that you started. So don't get flippant with me. The only reason I brought you here was to protect you from the civilians that you claimed to want to protect.""You already know that I feel like shit about this. Must you try to make it worse?" Sharpe shot back, glaring angrily. Hale gave a slight chuckle, then shook his head, his expression going stone cold. "You just stay out of sight and hope I can fix your mistake. With any luck, you'll be able to show your face in public again one day."Hale turned around and walked out. His comm went off as he did. One of his agents in the field was reporting anothe Augury Soldier attack. "Damn it. We're spread thin as it is. Put out another call. Get as many active metahumans to the location as you possibly can. No civilian casualties. Do you hear me? No civilian casualties."The call went out. The heroes that got the call would arrive to a dire scene. Cars overturned, streetlights broken, cement ripped up. The Augury Soldiers flying about, firing off weapons into crowds of people scattering to get away and to safety.

Erin didn’t have to hear the call to know that something needed to be done. The damn robots had completely destroyed the shop next to hers, taking down one of her walls in the process. That was enough to tick her off, even if she hadn’t been alarmed by the very idea of these things when the guy Sharpe introduced them in the first place. Luckily this guy didn’t seem to have much experience with powers like hers, or he would most likely have taken precautions. That metal robot coming after her was its final mistake. She took the damned thing apart, all metallic components disassembled, reshaped into flat sheets, and stacked neatly in the alleyway for her to use later in her artwork. No need to make more of a mess by fighting with something when she could dismember it with the snap of a finger, after all. At least she was getting some free materials out of it.
Now that that was taken care of, she frowned at the hole in her wall and was considering what she was going to use to patch it when she heard screams further down the street. And that was about the time the call came. How many of those things were there? Too damned many. Well, she couldn’t just go out there in her everyday clothes unfortunately. Some of her best customers had rather strong opinions about ‘powered’ people, so her livelihood depended on her ability to keep Lodestone’s true identity a secret. She changed into her costume and mask and headed into the street.
Her first priority was protecting the innocent people and getting them to safety. Reaching out, she lifted some of the overturned cars to shield the masses from the hail of bullets being aimed at them, but that left only enough attention left to throw half-powered attacks at the robots, which they were easily able to dodge. Hopefully more people would be arriving to help soon. She wouldn’t last very long on her own considering the sheer number of these things.

Well this was one hell of a mess. Eddie had no idea what that guy Sharpe must have been thinking, if he really was thinking at all, but he knew now that his team was going to have to be part of the solution. Hale had sent out the call, and here he was, answering as always. It was all part of his job. Sometimes he was thankful that he didn't have to hold down a normal job, but boy the stress of being a hero could get to him sometimes, and especially being the leader of a superhero team. But that was all a part of it, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
In costume, Elite leapt from the runway of the Thermopylae, diving down towards the city and pulling up just before he hit one of the skyscrapers. A smirk passed his face and he dove down the other side of the building. He loved flying. Spinning around, feeling the wind pull at his skin the faster he flew, there was no better feeling to him. Well, almost no better feeling.
Flying down to the area where the call was directed, he saw exactly what sort of a mess it really was. It was chaos, no other way to put it. He swooped down quickly, slamming into a large concentration of the soldiers and blowing them back. A good initial assault, but it wouldn't fix anything. He launched himself forward, at two of the robots, but they saw it coming. "Oh shit...." he said as two fists met his face, causing him to fly backwards and slam into a building. "Well, I'd be lying if I said they didn't pack a punch," he mused as he got up to his elbows. Luckily, his body could take that kind of damage. Looking over, he then saw a woman in the distance, holding up a wall of cars to block bullets. Smart play, he thought. But surely she couldn't do that for too long. Defense was great, but defense wouldn't take out the enemy. He got up, shaking away the rubble and launching himself towards the group of robots, slamming into them with his shoulder and knocking them back. The hail of bullets flying towards the cars stopped from that, with only a few strays denting the roofs. He knew that wouldn't last long, though. The machines would get back up and fire away again. There was just too many of the machines. He leapt into the air and behind the wall of cars. "Nice trick," he said before looking at the woman. "Hello nurse," he said after looking at her. Well, she obviously wasn't a nurse, but damn. Focus, he scolded himself.
"Well I don't know right off how we're gonna get these people out of this, but looks like you might be part of the solution. Maybe we'll get some help along the way." He looked over again and gave a little smirk and a shrug.

Just when she was worried that she and the people she was trying to protect were going to be surrounded, someone arrived to help. She didn’t really notice until the laser blasts grew less frequent, giving her a little more time to create a makeshift tunnel for the innocent bystanders to make their way inside. Once they were all safe, she would be able to focus more of her energy into fighting the robots. There had to be something she could do to mess them up a little. She was a manipulator of metal, after all, and that’s what those things were made out of. That gave her an unexpected advantage that the people who made these things probably hadn’t counted on. Lucky for her.
A figure jumping around to the other side of the line of cars made Erin jump a bit in surprise. This must be the man who’d taken out a few of the robots. At first, she thought he was talking to her, but he referred to a nurse. She could have sworn he was looking at her. Erin looked behind herself to see who it was he was talking to. There actually was a pair of women in scrubs, so she assumed that was who he was saying hello to. Why, she wasn’t sure. Maybe he had a thing for women in uniforms. Such a shame. But it didn’t really matter. At least he was here and seemed to be powerful enough that he could help her take these robots down. At least with his next words she knew that he was definitely talking to her this time. “I guess we’ll see…” she said, shrugging as well. All they could do was their best, given the confines of what they were given to work with.
With the people making their way inside, Erin focused her energy on finding the robots. The closest ones she could even sense without having to leave the shelter provided by the cars. A moment later, the firing in the area stopped completely. “The ones closest to us. I can hold them in place but not for long. You’ll have to move quickly.” There were about ten that she could hold. He’d have to be careful about long-range fire from the ones that were further away, but for a small window of time he would have nothing to fear from this group. He would just have to make good use of that time.

No, she was no nurse, but damn... "Focus, Eddie," he silently scolded himself. This was too serious of a situation for him to not be on his game. Of course, he was still damn good when he wasn't on his game. That was part of why he'd been given the honor of being the field leader of the Spartans. Too bad they couldn't be here right now. They'd wipe the floor with these things. The way they worked as a team, despite the astronomically different personalities, was absolutely unbelievable. Anyway, the woman with what appeared to be magnetic powers was talking, and she was holding a few of the troopers in place, leaving an opening for Elite. A grin passed his face and he leapt into action. Moving at super speed through the air, Eddie slammed into two of the troopers, shattering them and sending bits and pieces of metal falling to the ground. He grabbed one of them by the feet and swung it around, arcing it to crash into the others being held in place. He then swung the robotic body around over his head and slammed it into the two remaining troopers that were held in place. "Okay, got it," he announced loud enough so the woman could hear him.
He dropped the robotic body to the ground, but something caught his eye. He lowered himself to the ground from his flight. The other troopers in the distance had stopped what they were doing as well. "Uhm, am I the only one seeing this?" he asked quickly. Oh, shit, was the first thought that came to his mind when he looked back down. He touched his ear, activating the comm. "Yo, base, you're gonna want to see this." Inside the smashed machine was a human body. But it was only this particular one. All the rest of them were machines. It seemed that the one was the leader, judging from the markings on the armor. Eddie didn't know what to think. He looked back to the woman and shook his head. "Looks like the situation just changed. And I'm not completely sure that it's for the best."
Elite picked the body up and carried it over towards her. He dropped it in front of her and knelt beside the body. The soldiers in the distance were still not moving. He looked back up to the woman. "Sorry there wasn't any time for introductions. I'm Eddie. They call me Elite. And you are?"

So he was super strong and could fly. That was damned useful. Erin was lucky that someone like him just happened to come along. Basically saved her ass. There was no way she would have been able to handle all of these things by herself. She was finally able to relax for a moment as the man destroyed the robots she’d been holding as well as a few others. She was fully prepared to keep using basically the same strategy, but it didn’t seem like that would be necessary. She hurried over closer to where the man was standing and looked down, her eyes widening in surprise as she saw a man inside one of the robots. In a hurry, she looked around to see if there were any others like this one, but she could not see any others that had a body in them. That was a relief. One dead body was more than enough.
He took the body out of the machine and brought it toward her. Erin looked away for a moment, not entirely sure that she really wanted a better look. In the end though, she knew that she had to look no matter how much it turned her stomach to do so. She swallowed hard, her focus entirely on the dead man until she heard him speak again. “Huh?” Erin looked up at him. At Eddie. He said his name was Eddie. Or Elite. Holy shit, that was why he looked familiar. No masked crusader in this city didn’t know about the Spartans. Some of them even aspired to be a member someday. And this man was their leader. “Oh, I’m Erin… ummm… Lodestone…” She shook her head slightly like it would help clear the haze in her mind. What was the point in having a secret identity if she was just going to be telling her real name to anyone who asked? Well, he had introduced himself first after all.
“I’m sorry, I’m just a little rattled,” she confessed, taking another brief glance down at the body. “It’s my first time umm… you know… with the whole killing a person thing and everything.” Technically speaking it was Eddie who’d actually caused the death, but she’d helped. Knowing it was completely in self defense did make her feel a little better, but just a little. She was an artist, not normally a fighter like this. She didn’t think it was something she could just get used to in an instant.

"Hale, do you hear me?" Elite said into his earpiece. He gave an assuring smile to the woman, Lodestone, in front of him. He understood her being flustered, and even a little frustrated with herself after revealing her name to him. Secret identities weren't that easy to keep. "It's okay, Lodestone," he said with a nod. He wouldn't use her given name. When he finally got an answer back on his comm, he looked away for a brief moment. "Sharpe was holding back on the whole soldier thing. There's a human soldier in each of the units, leading a small group of soldiers. The soldiers shut down with no commander. Look for the two red stripes on the right shoulderpad. Oh, and we're gonna need a clean up crew here." He turned back to Lodestone. "It's always jarring, the first time anyway. Hopefully you won't have to do it again." Right now though, it was a better idea for them to get out of there, since the clean up crew was coming in. He looked around the area to get the lay of the land, exactly where in the city he was. For a leader, he was often not very aware of his surroundings, choosing to act before fully thinking through his actions. It was a good thing that he had an awesome team around him, or he'd probably dead by now. He had a way of getting impulsive and hotheaded. He knew it was something he had to curb to better his leadership skills. "The clean up team will handle all of this. Let's get out of here. Grab some coffee or something. We do need to check the perimeter though, first. I can handle that if you want to hang back. It's no problem at all."
He waited for her answer, and then did a quick sweep. If she came with him then he'd make the sweep a little slower, unsure of how fast she could move using her powers. Magnetic powers, pretty damned powerful, he thought. Once the sweep was done, he stopped back where they were. "Everything is clear. We can head out of here. Are you okay?" he asked her at the end. She still looked like she was flustered. "It wasn't you that killed him, you know. I know it doesn't help to say that, but it wasn't. And, this won't help either, but he was going to kill all those people that you saved." He emphasized the word 'you' in that statement. She had been the first to act, and she had saved those people. "You're a hero," he said, trying to inspire her some.

Once she and Elite had discovered the weakness of the robots, Erin figured it wouldn’t be too much longer before things were back under control. “I just don’t understand. If they had human commanders from the beginning, then this whole thing was planned out by someone. Right? Isn’t that what that means?” She’d heard that Nick Sharpe was the creator, and that somehow he had lost control of the robots. Was that all a ruse? Had this been his plan all along? Or had some sinister force taken control of his creation? The inportant thing for now was that they knew the robots’ weakness and could exploit it to take them down, but if there was some kind of powerful group behind all of this, Elite and the men he fought with would need to know and be prepared for that kind of thing.
For now, it seemed their fight was over. And he was really trying to comfort her through the shock of having seen her first death in battle. Eddie… no, Elite… was surprisingly kind. She didn’t really know what she’d expected from someone whose job was to save lives, but it was still a bit surprising that he was taking this time to help her through this. Even to the point of offering to take her out for coffee or something. First thing first, they needed to do a perimeter check. He offered to do it by himself, but she shook her head. “No, that’s okay. I can help.” So she went along with him, not wanting him to think she was weak and not entirely sure why she cared about his opinion of her. Probably because he was such a powerful and famous hero. But, she also had to admit that it was at least partially because he was insanely gorgeous. Yep, that was definitely a factor.
When their sweep was done, she looked up at him. “Yes, I’m alright. Or at least, I will be.” She knew that it wasn’t her fault that man died. At least, not entirely. It was just going to take a little time for the ache in her heart to go away. After all, one of her greatest fears had come true today. Causing death was one of the main reasons she tended to avoid battle as much as possible. But he was right when he said that there might have been a lot more death caused by these robots if she hadn’t come along when she did. Hearing him call her a hero, and the idea that he respected her, made her smile. “Thank you.” Thinking about the whole hero thing brought up something else in her mind. “Are you sure that you can just leave? You don’t need to go back and… write a report or… something?” Truth be told, she had no idea what kind of things a professional hero did when he wasn’t saving people.

"That's.....that's a really good point," Eddie answered, having honestly not thought about that. Who could have been behind such a thing? Yeah, Sharpe was smart enough, but the hero known as Elite didn't think that Sharpe was fanatical enough. Of course, with the right motivation, anyone could go over the deep end. It's not like it would be the first time that Eddie had seen such a thing. In his time as Elite, he'd encountered quite a few villains who were a few fries short of a happy meal. The thought of french fries made him hungry, and he rubbed his belly. He shook away the thought. More important things to think about for the moment.
He nodded when she said she was okay to go do the perimeter check. He admired that about her already. She had just been through a highly traumatic experience, but she was tough enough mentally to be able to handle the smaller details of the situation. There was no doubt in Eddie's mind that the perimeter sweep would find nothing, but he was nothing if not thorough when it came to his job. He was right, however. The sweep of the perimeter brought up nothing, and by the time they'd circled back around, Eagle's Nest had agents on site. "Good to see them, I guess," Eddie said with a chuckle. His team worked with the organization a lot, but it wasn't always his favorite times.
He smiled when she went into her questioning about did he have to go file a report or something, and a slight chuckle left him. He shook his head. "One of the perks of the job is that these guys handle reports and such," he said as he nodded towards the Eagle's Nest agents. "Its different from being a cop." He shrugged. "Y'know, not to try to bring about an idea you wouldn't like or anything, but you should think about joining my team. You've got some serious power there. And between you and me, I'd love to see Glory's reaction to someone prettier than her being on the team." He gave a nudging elbow to her as they made their way towards the coffee shop down the street. "So, you a coffee person? Or cappuccino? Latte?" he asked with a smile as they came up to the shop.

Well, it was good that Erin wasn’t keeping him from his job, but she was still pretty sure he had a million other things he could be doing that were more important than taking her for coffee. It was a very kind gesture, though, and one that she didn’t intend to refuse. That was probably selfish of her, but she was still kinda getting over the shock of having killed a person for the first time. At the very least Elite would be a welcome distraction from the pain that was sure to overwhelm her when she was finally alone again. Oh well. It was only logical that it would take time to get over something like that. At least she would have the rebuilding of her shop to take her mind off of things for a little while.
She smiled in amusement when he said she might want to consider joining his team. While the idea of getting to know this man a little better appealed to her in a big way, she just didn’t see how it would be possible. She shook her head. “I’m an artist, not a fighter. And anyway, the last thing I’d want to do is make Glory mad. She seems pretty tough.” Of course, she’d seen the whole group on the news before. That was one beautiful lady. Did he really think Erin was prettier? The very idea brought color to her cheeks. She had to calm herself down a little, though. If he caught her blushing without a reason, that would be pretty embarrassing.
“Latte. Vanilla latte, to be more specific.” She loved just about anything vanilla flavored, in fact. Not that she was likely to mention that to Elite or even figure that he would care. “What about you? Are you a black coffee kind of guy?” she asked him curiously, wondering what he would order. It felt so strange to be going to a cafe in her hero costume. They were likely to draw some strange glances. Or admiring ones if they recognized Elite. That might actually cause quite a deal of commotion.

Really there was nothing right now more important than taking Erin for a drink. Eddie had found that after killing someone for the first time, even inadvertently like it was for her, being in someone's company was always very helpful. Being by yourself only left you feeling guilty and, well, alone. Like there was no one in the world that wanted to be around you. She was powerful, there was no doubt of that, and power also often gave that feeling of loneliness. How could someone with powers ever live a life with someone who had no powers? It just didn't seem right. Sometimes anyway. There were always exceptions.
He noted her smile when he mentioned joining the team. "Not a fighter? Maybe not, but you clearly have a tactical mind to have used your powers like that. Gotta be honest here, I may not've thought of that course of action." He then laughed out. "She's tough, yeah. Bit of a bitch sometimes, really, but she'd warm up to you quickly enough. She gets tired of it being just guys running around the Thermopylae." He hadn't noticed the blush as he'd opened the door for her at the time.
He nodded and turned to the barista, who started up the vanilla latte. "Black coffee for me," he said with a nod when she asked. Strangely enough, the patrons of the coffee shop were calm. The fact was that Elite came in here so often now that it wasn't such a big deal. "This is my favorite coffee shop. Jesse brews the best," he said with a smile after the barista brought the drinks to them. He handed her drink to her and walked to a table. "So tell me about yourself?" he asked.

“Like I said. I’m an artist. Thinking outside the box is what we do best, otherwise we’d be out of a job.” It pleased her to know he admired what she’d done in the fight, although it was really him who’d done the majority of the heroics. At least in terms of destroying the attackers. She’d only held them in place, after all. He was the one who’d saved her butt when she was trying to keep the regular citizens from harm. There was no way she could have kept providing protection and gone on the offensive by herself. “You seem pretty strong though. You might have been able to take them out yourself even if I hadn’t helped a little.”
She laughed a little when he talked about Glory. “Well, if I ever meet her I’ll tell her you said that…” she joked. Not that she ever really expected that she would meet anyone on his team, even if he was serious about wanting her to join the team. As tempting as it was, her store wouldn’t run itself and she had bills to pay.
“Wow, I’m a little surprised I was right,” she said when he confirmed what his order would be. Almost as surprised as she was by how calm everyone here was considering AI robots had just been attacking the city not long ago. She could still hear sirens in the distance. But her own scalding hot beverage was definitely calming as she slowly sipped at it, so she allowed herself to relax a little. “Hmm. Well, there’s not much that’s interesting enough to tell, really. I’ve got a little shop here in Midtown…” Her face darkened slightly.”...or, I had a shop. It needs to be rebuilt now thanks to those damn robots.”

An artist, huh? Interesting. She had done more in the fight than she realized. With the ability to predict maneuvers, these things would have eventually ripped Eddie to shreds. "Well you did great," he complimented again. He meant it. She definitely had what it took to be a hero, even if she wasn't going to join the Spartans. That was okay. Not everyone would be comfortable living in a floating fortress anyway. He chuckled to himself at the thought.
He laughed at her joking about telling Glory what he'd said. "She'd kick my ass across the ship and back," he shrugged as he said. She was a better fighter than he, but he had the leader's temperament. And he knew how to use people to their strengths, while covering their weaknesses. He wasn't the greatest tactician like that, but he was damn good at it.
"Oh, yeah. Well it's quicker," he said about the black coffee. "I'm on the go a lot, so I kinda picked up the taste for it." He heard the sirens also, but noticed first that she had recognized the calmness of the people around. He touched her hand softly. "It's okay. They see me in here all the time, and I'm guessing the news reports haven't really brought out the frenzy yet. The people of this city are tough as nails." He truly respected that of these people.
"Don't worry about your shop. I'll make sure that the funding clears to rebuild it, have your insurance claims handled and such. I'm not sure how it works, but the city took out a large policy on extra normal damages after the Omega's attack. I'll talk to Hale and get it handled."

His admission that Glory would easily kick his ass induced a laugh from Erin. A much louder one than she had originally intended. The majority of people tended to think of the leader of a group as the strongest one, especially when it came to heroes and villains in this world. To hear him admit that he was not the strongest fighter came as a bit of a shock, but it was refreshing to her to know that he wasn’t super egotistical or anything like that. “Well, maybe I won’t tell her then. It would be a pretty bad way to repay you for saving my butt back there.” And for staying with her when he knew she was troubled about the death they’d caused.
The reasoning behind his preference for black coffee made total sense. “I bet you are…” she said in reference to his comment about being always on the go. “Isn’t your base even mobile?” She couldn’t imagine moving around constantly the way he did. It must be difficult for him to get close to people outside those he worked with. Erin briefly wondered whether or not he was ever lonely, but didn’t think it was her place to ask such a question.
It really touched her that he was willing to help her to this extent. “Really? That would be…” she smiled and shook her head slightly. “...such a relief.” It would still take weeks for the paperwork to pull through and for her shop to be rebuilt, but she had enough savings to manage that. “I honestly wasn’t sure how I would be able to pay my bills if it took months to reopen.” It was a little embarrassing to admit that, but her shop was small. She made a good living but she was not rich by any means.

Eddie laughed with Erin. He actually thought it was kind of cute that she'd laughed so loud about it. But he was only being honest. Glory was a badass. Despite his power level, Eddie knew when he was outmatched. That was part of what made him a good leader. He knew his limits, he knew just what he was capable of and what he wasn't capable of. Most people called that knowing how to delegate. "I'd appreciate your silence on that," he said with a laugh. "Hey, you did just as much as I did back there. Honestly, you did a perfect job of crowd defense."
"Oh, definitely. Yeah, the Thermopylae is mobile. It's almost never in the same spot. We have a device that lets us know its location though, so we never get left behind." He shrugged and gave a small chuckle. "It's not so bad. Does get a little...," he started but paused for a bit. "I don't know, a little difficult." He couldn't find the right word. Sure he was lonely, but he had friends on board to help him get through that. Mostly. "Aside from patrols and tracking the bad guys I don't really get out much."
"Well, yeah," he answered. She must not have realized just how much good she'd really done earlier. "I don't know first hand, but I can understand how difficult it must be running your own business. You probably put in a lot of hours, pour your heart and soul into it. Can't be easy." He really had no idea. Though he had hardships of his own. It was him that kept the Spartans together. Without his leadership, the world's premiere super team would have gone their separate ways on day one. It was likely that the Omega would have killed everyone. The Spartans weren't the only ones who fought, but they were integral in keeping the monstrous being occupied. "But it's got to be a great feeling, working for yourself, making your own hours, not having to answer to anyone," he said as much as asked.
