Delilah didn't even know how she'd managed to make it out of the damned building. One minute, she was in the middle of a hot rock leg massage that was part of her deluxe pedicure, and the next a damned robot had burst through the building and was approaching her. Like, what the hell? Was this some crazy obsessed fan's idea of devotion? That would be pretty sick, but she realized very quickly that this wasn't that kind of thing. That kind of thing didn't usually try to kill you. It fucking shot at her! She'd closed her eyes and expected the worst, but the bullets hit the wall behind her without passing through her body first. Considering how close they were, she was surprised the damned thing had missed.
An assumed calibration error was not an opportunity that Del planned on wasting. She booked it out of that salon barefoot. "Shit shit shit shit..." No time to grab purse or put on shoes. Didn't all those action movies tell you to not run in a straight line to make yourself a more difficult target? She didn't think those movies were the best source of advice in this situation, but it sounded legit enough. She started running in an erratic zig-zag down the street, occasionally turning a corner. She didn't know how long she could keep this up, but her life was on the line so hopefully it would be long enough.

One thing that remained consistent in Adonis's life was the lack of free time to actually do what he wanted. Unfortunately when you mix that with the leftover energy he would still have his options were always limited to either drinking, or the cheaper choice of walking through the area and taking in the sights. Who needed reality television when the scripted scenes shown could never equal that of a random encounter that life would possess, especially when tuned into the sci-fi channel that showed robots destroying the city. 'Maybe tv would of been a better choice, at least a less tiresome one.' Adonis thought to himself as he walked causally while the citizens would scream and run past him. It was hard for Adonis to worry or become frightened by the sight with what he experienced in the past, but what his eyes were looking at was enough to annoy him.
Out from a building recently attacked ran a female who looked to be in danger. Normally Adonis would try and discuss a price to ensure her safety, but it seemed that in the moment She didn't have much time to talk, especially since she seemed so focused on running in a crazed formation. When she was about to reach the corner of the street dodging attacks from a persistent robotic being, Adonis noticed another metallic figure that she was certain to run into. "It looks like you were dealt a shitty hand" He said as he charged over in an attempt to reach the spot before the female, barely getting there in time. "When no aces are left, You pray for a King." Standing there in front of her he wished the robot's attack would hit him, but not in his torso for hitting the explosives on his chest would only see her more damaged than the actual shot. As the attack flew at them, it hit Adonis in the cheek with a pain that felt like a needle piercing his skin, but nothing major as his skin reacted to the shot becoming reinforced before the impact. "Kneel before me." He shouted before winding up a powerful punch that ending up missing with ease. 'It's like it knew my movements before I did.' Adonis thought to himself while watching the robot disregard him and go straight for the girl. 'Fuck' Readjusting himself, Adonis lunged onto the robot with one arm digging his fingers into the shoulder of the one in front of her. "Quick, get behind a car or something... I'm going all in." He yelled out at her giving her a warning. Adonis figured taking out one of these things would be best since she still had one behind her that was surely still on her tail. With a loud shout channeling all of his strength, Adonis punched his own chest piercing through the explosives and detonating them and causing an explosion that he hoped would destroy the robot.

Her feet should be killing her. She must have stepped in something or stubbed her toe by now, but Delilah felt no pain. Too much adrenaline. She didn’t even have time to think about all the things she could have done with her life. Or should have done. Her life was definitely not flashing before her eyes. It was best for her sanity at this point to take that as a good sign rather than just figuring that kind of shit was made up anyway.
Everyone in the street was running away, but none of them had a robot specifically targeting them. Del was the lucky one. Of course. This must be karma for giving out all that horrid dating advice and then chuckling at the idea of someone taking her seriously. If by some miracle she did live through this, things were going to be different. No more thinking about her readers as idiots. All of that shit. Good karma would be the name of the game. Not that Del was planning on joining a convent or anything like that, but she’d definitely be a better person.
Thoughts like these flipped through her mind until she saw the man running toward her. By choice. What the hell was he thinking? “No, actually this is me on a good day,” she said in response to his comment. Of course she then hid behind him, figuring that either he had some kind of superpower that would help him take down her attacker, or he was just going to get himself killed. If that happened, maybe she could hide under the body and the robot would think she was dead too. Fat chance, but at this point she was grasping at any straws in sight. It looked like she’d gotten lucky, because the robot’s attack hadn’t seemed to phase this guy at all. “Huh? Oh yeah… okay…” There was a delivery truck across the street that she took cover behind, even though she wanted to watch what he meant when he said he was going ‘all in.’
The explosion knocked her back on her ass. Unless she was very much mistaken, that blast came from right where the guy and the robot were. Was that part of his plan? God she hoped it was part of his plan. She sheltered herself from the falling debris, noticing a few metallic pieces that looked an awful like the robot’s parts. Had he actually defeated the thing? She stood back up to take a look and see if the guy was alright. “Please tell me you didn’t just go kamikaze on me…?”

After the explosion Adonis stood back to his feet shaking his head to clear himself from the ringing that was going on inside. "Ugh, you never get used to that." He said to the woman in response to her comment. He assumed that it would probably be weird to see someone blow themselves up and be standing unharmed in their face after. Adonis moved towards a store on the block and took one of the front display curtains and wrapped it around himself to cover up the clothing that had been destroyed. After dressing himself like he was on his way to a toga party he regained focus while walking towards her. "Wait, where did the other one go?" Adonis went to turn in the direction of where she had been coming from, but before he can fully get his head around he was sent flying a few feet by the impact of the robot.
The hit hurt more than it should since he didn't have a chance to prepare for it. He figured that she wasn't able to properly defend herself since she was running away from the thing not that long ago. Adonis was getting up to his feet slower than usual when he witnessed the robot about to fire at her. "Move!" he yelled out, but also in the matter of her not being able to move fast enough he grabbed a hold of a car that was parked and slid it up to hopefully get there in time fora shield. Adonis was nervous for the woman, it'd be easier to take one of these out without having to worry about someone else, and the fact that he already used his unpredictability to attack that this one would be much more harder to defeat, the only true options being to either work together and think of something that would be hard to predict or run to somewhere safe.

So the guy was okay. Del had to admit that she had no idea how that had happened. Well, it was probably a power of some kind. Thank goodness for people like him that had powers and used them to do some good in this otherwise relatively shitty world. She’d always sort of wondered what it would be like to have some kind of strange power, but of course that wasn’t in the cards for her. Oh well. Probably for the best in the long run, although something like that would be damned useful right now in fighting off these robots. The guy had already taken care of one, but there was another that she hadn’t seen before. Holy shit. Was this one after her too!?
Yep, of course it was. Was today Monday or something? Fuck… The guy got hit and was sent flying backward, but still managed to come to her rescue in the form of throwing a car in between her and the robot. “You gotta be kidding me…” She hid behind the car while the robot rained bullets on it. She wouldn’t be able to stay there for very long, but at least she was safe for now. “I dunno whether or not you’re planning on blowing yourself up again, but whatever you’re going to do I suggest you do it fast.” The robot smashed the hood of the car downward with one arm. With a yelp of surprise, Del ran behind the nearest metal object she could find: a large garbage dumpster. It wouldn’t last much longer than the car had, but it was better than nothing.
