Ryan was running a bit late, but he knew that was okay, since Robin was probably still in the production meeting. Ryan hated those, but hell, it was time spent with his best friend. He'd mostly just crack jokes to keep the meeting interesting, or at least bearable. Damn she was probably bored to tears in there today. He pulled into the parking garage and into his spot, then made his way up to the elevator. "Hey, Steve, you still trying to grow that combover out?" he asked as he stepped out of the elevator. Steve chuckled and tossed a pen at him. Ryan tried, and failed, to catch it. "Great throw, QB," Ryan shot out sarcastically. "Screw you, McAlister," Steve shot back with a laugh. Ryan moved on past Steve's door and passed the mailroom clerk, Cassie. "Scruffy beard today, Ryan?" she asked, shooting him a wink. "Rough night, hooker," he answered. She giggled and went on about her business. Ryan did the same, except for a quick look back at her as she walked off. She was a hot one, but it was common knowledge that she was an easy one too. Ryan didn't want any part of that.
He made his way past the anchor desk and into the offices. That's where he stopped and his attention was caught. He instantly moved towards the acoustic guitar leaning against the glass pane wall of Daniel Martin's office. Daniel stepped out and looked at the guitar too. "I found it in the storeroom," he said. "Thought you might be interested in it. I remembered you saying your last one broke." Ryan picked it up and smiled. "Thanks, bro." He flipped his backpack over his shoulder and moved the guitar so he could strum a bit. "Every rose has it's thorn...just like every night, has it's dawn...just like every cowboy sings a sad, sad song....every rose has it's thorn," he sang. "A bit out of tune, but I can fix that." He nodded as Daniel went back into his office.
It was only a few more feet until he reached the conference room. He planned to just wait outside until they came out, but that didn't take long, since by the time he got there, they were already letting out. So he just waited until Robin came out. "Check it out," he said, holding up the guitar when he saw her. She looked like she was bored. He gave an uncomfortable look and shrugged. "Sorry, woke up a bit late. Ok, truth, I hit the snooze a few too many times...but I'm here now. So? I miss anything interesting?"
