After they killed his sister, Dale killed them both. Self-orphaned, he was put in foster care. After growing up, he became a cop, like his father. He intended on being a good cop, but he was quickly turned when the Caito family blackmailed him, saying that they knew he killed his parents and threatened to put the proof out there if he didn't join their payroll. He agreed, and was forced to transfer to Sapphire City, where the Caito family was based out of.
