It was odd to Logan that she seemed to care so much. He didn't have many friends in this world, so it was more than interesting indeed. Sure, his teammates cared, and so did Eagle's Nest. But it was their job to care, their responsibility. No one else looked at the superhero known as Monster with anything more than fear, and sometimes a bit of pity. How could someone who had so much power have friends? Well, however it was possible, he had one now. And he was glad of it. Michelle seemed like a really good woman. That was apparent just in her occupation. It took some kind of patience to deal with a bunch of screaming ankle biters. Logan knew he couldn't do it. Hell, he could barely put up with his teammates.
Tim was one such person that he did trust though, and he knew that the agent would be true to his word. Nathan Hale wouldn't know anything about this. Okay, so he would somehow know, but it wouldn't come from Tim or from Logan either. Logan would take the consequences of it, were there to be any. Really, he just expected that Hale would give that disappointed father look and be done with it. A simple fact about Hale that few people actually knew was that he did understand. He wasn't some emotionless machine. The human element was stronger than in many others.
"Sunflower Learning Center," he repeated when she turned back to speak one last time before leaving. "I'll drop by sometime." And he would. There was no question about it. He wanted to see her again, and soon. Maybe very soon. He had to let the wounds heal, and then he'd make his way there. The kids would get a kick out of a visit from a superhero. Of that he was sure. Hopefully she'd be just as happy to see him.
