Roman nodded slowly when she caught his meaning. Perceptive. "There are many variable that factor into which form of magic others are more proficient with. Your personality is the largest factor, however. I am quite arrogant, domineering at times, and driven to be all powerful. So my destructive magic is my most powerful magic." There was so much more to it, though. And there was so much more that he wanted her to learn and master. Self defense being the highest priority.
"The day will come when I stand triumphant over the world, holding the weight of it all under my boot. When that day comes, I want you, my queen, by my side. But you will have to learn much. I have no doubt that you will do just that." She was smart, he knew. She'd catch on to everything that he was to teach her, and maybe even learn a thing or two from her.
"Fire," he repeated. The most difficult of the elements to master. That brought a smirk to his face. "Then tomorrow morning you will begin to learn to create, control, and manipulate fire. With the flick of a finger, there was a small, lighter flame sized, sconce of fire floating above his hand. He waved his free hand through it, around it, and over it. The flame expanded and contracted with his every hand motion. She'd notice his eyes glowing with that familiar glint. And then he cupped his hands together, extinguishing the flame. Tonight, he would have her rest. Tomorrow would be the beginning of their future reign.

“Queen?” It was more than she’d expected. Well, to be honest, she hadn’t really known what to expect. The first member of a harem, possible. Concubine. Or just a pawn he could use to further his quest for world domination. That was exactly what she’d thought she was to him. After all, one of the first things he’d said to her was that she would be an asset to him. He’d spared her from a fiery demise because he sensed the power inside of her. She knew early on that he wanted her by his side. It was only the title that had caught her so off-guard. Maybe he’d given off hints earlier that she just hadn’t caught. This was a lot to take in for one day, after all.
She smiled, not wanting him to think that she was displeased by the idea in the slightest. It was true that she had a lot to learn before she would be ready to take her place by his side, but she was up to the task. He already knew that, too. She already knew him to be the kind of man that would not expect something of someone that they could not deliver. “You won’t be disappointed,” she promised.
His display of power was quite impressive, but he’d been constantly impressing her throughout the hours that she’d known him. No reason for her to lose that sense of wonder now. She wondered if she ever would. Not likely, even after she’d mastered her own magic. But this particular display seemed to include a parting statement. It had been quite a day. Yesterday, she would never have believed that her life would have taken such a dramatic shift, but there were no regrets in her mind. “Then I suppose I will see you in the morning.” She stood up and looked down at him. “Will you come to get me, or should I meet you somewhere?” she asked him, not even really sure what time he wanted to get started.

Roman nodded slowly, when she questioned what he'd called her. Yes, she would be his queen. Every king needed his queen. "Do you prefer the title of Empress?" he asked with a smirk. It didn't matter to him what the world called him....King, Emperor...it was all the same, as long as they knew who their ruler was. And they would know. Roman had a brilliant mind, one that was matched by few and surpassed my none. His magical talents were on par with the best sorcerers in the world. Soon, Acacia's magical skill would be too. And she would be at his side in ruling the world. The world was such a small portion of the universe, though. It was just the beginning.
Hearing the conviction in her words, that he would not be disappointed, brought a smile to his face. But he knew that already. "I believe that," he answered. "You've got more potential that you even realize. Your powers, when fully functional and under your control, will make you one of, if not the most powerful being in the entirety of existence. And it will be my pleasure to bring you to that level of power."
When she stood up, he waited as she asked her question, and he stood with her. It was common gentlemanly manners to stand when a lady left the room. "Tomorrow morning, then." He took her hands, uttered a few arcane words under his breath and slightly pulled back his hands a touch. Not enough for her to see what she would now feel in her hands. "You've had a trying day. Rest tonight, and sleep as late as you'd like. I will be prepared to start your training at whatever time you are." As he let go of her hands, she would see a single red rose sitting in her hands. "Sleep well," he offered.

Normally a question like that would be seen as a joke by all sides. Whatever the answer might be, it would be given with a casual shrug and all parties involved would have a good laugh. Roman, however, did not seem the joking type. He meant it when he said he planned to rule the world one day, with her by his side. From the little she’d seen of his intellect and power, he could probably achieve just that. When that time came, Acacia wanted to be there just like he’d said. She’d quickly found herself drawn to him like a moth to a flame. Even the distinct possibility that she might get burned in the process did not give her more than a fleeting moment of hesitation. So when he asked her which title she preferred, her answer was just as direct as the question had been. “Yes, I think I do prefer that…” was the response, returning his smirk with one of her own. Sometime soon, somehow, they would make it happen. Together. The fact that he had so much faith in her abilities only reinforced her confidence that they could achieve their goals. It also increased her desire to please him, to live up to the lofty expectations he obviously had of her. Acacia had always set the bar high for herself, never afraid of a seemingly impossible challenge. The stakes had never been quite this high before, of course, but the principle was the same. For her to become worthy of being his queen or empress, she would have to work hard. Probably moreso than she ever had before. The idea excited her. Speaking of excitement, the young woman had to acknowledge, at least to herself, the tremor that ran through her body when Roman took her hands in his. Her focus was initially on his face, watching his lips mutter what was obviously a spell before he pulled away from her. The perfect flower left in her grasp brought a smile to her face as she twirled it between her slender fingertips. “It’s beautiful. Thank you, Roman. Goodnight…” Her eyes captured his for a moment longer before she turned away from him and headed back to her room to rest for the night. She didn’t know what she was more excited for the morning about: training in magic, or just seeing him again. --end thread--
